Doris Damoulakis is a professional and empathic Clinical Psychologist with 20 years experience. She offers a balance of warmth and clinical expertise in her treatment sessions and aims to develop a solid connection and working relationship between client and therapist.
Her work with adults, adolescents, children, couples, families and organisations has been informed by her extensive experience in Mental Health, private Organisational, Educational and Clinical Psychology practices, University Anxiety Clinics, NSW Ministry of Health (Youth Health), Department of Community Services (now FaCS) and Wesley Mission.
As a Clinical Psychologist, Doris’ particular skill lies in the assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of mental health conditions. In particular, Doris has worked and trained extensively in the field of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other anxiety disorders and as such this is an area of expertise she is able to offer clients.
In addition Doris provided evidenced - based assessment and treatment services for young people aged 12-24yrs for over 10 years and this remains an area of special interest and expertise.
Doris is a Board Approved Supervisor of Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists and a casual academic and Supervisor at University of Western Sydney. Doris has also developed and facilitated groups as well as provided consultancy and training for both government and private organisations including secondary education institutions and Mental Health.
Doris uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) and Schema Therapy. She is also bilingual and able to conduct therapy in either English or Greek.
Doris’ qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Post Graduate Diploma of (Child and Adolescent) Psychology, Diploma of Applied Counselling and a Master of (Clinical) Psychology.
